Biography
Extreme Noise Terror was formed in January 1985 at Ipswich (UK). His first concert allowed him to sign immediately with Manic Ears Records, whose first record was recorded, a split with Chaos UK entitled Radioactive . Shortly after his release, Pig Killer (battery) was replaced by Mick Harris, who was later found at Napalm Death, Defecation or Scorn. 1987 is a pivotal year for the British, the band is noticed by John Peel who invites them to his BBC show. This is the beginning of a great relationship between the famous host and the Ipswich group, the latter becoming a regular of these radio performances. The result of the Peel Session is born by Strange Fruit . But Extreme Noise Terror still hasn't finished with his drummer problems. For the recording of A Holocaust In Your Head, its first album, the band must face Harris' departure. It is now Stick, a former hitter at Doom, who plays behind the drums and takes part in the band's first tour in Europe and Japan. Another one will follow later, ENT recording even for the occasion an album entitled Phonofobia . During one of his concerts, the band draws the attention of Bill Drummond, who proposes to record a version of "3Am Eternal" of The KLF, and to play live with him on Christmas Day on the show Top of the Pops. However, the BBC decided not to broadcast the recording, causing Drummond to boycott the show. Consolation, the title comes out in limited edition and is dedicated Single of the week by the NME and the Melody Maker. Both bands are asked to perform live at the Brit Awards 92 and even record an album that unfortunately will not be released. Extreme Noise Terror continues to run between 1993 and 1994 but faces serious line up problems. Pig Killer returns, a new bass player (Lee Barret, former Disgust ) and another guitarist, Ali, are integrated. The band then signed with Earache on which Retro-Bution was released in January 95, an album of old recordings. Under this training, they recorded Damage 381 under Colin Richardson's direction. But shortly after, Barney returned to Napalm Death, causing Phil Vane to be reinstated.
