Ez3Kiel

Ez3kiel began in 1993 with five members on board. Florent Duytschaever (Guitare), Joan Guillon (Claviers / Guitar / Programming), Matthieu Freys (Batterie), Yann Nguema (Basse / Visuals) and Brigitte Amédomé (Chant) played initially a fusion of Ska / Funk / Hardcore. The name of the band is inspired by a replica of Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. For various reasons, after a few tours, the band splints in 1997 to better reborn its ashes, with a more experimental tint, to bring to life a clean style mixing electronic music, Dub, Rock and Trip-Hop. These first tests took place in 1998 with the release of theep Equalize It at Skitzo Productions. In 1999, Ez3kiel became a trio with Matthew, Yann and Joan, who already showed a serious desire to join romantic and dreamlike visuals with their music. The first album, Handle With Care , was released in 2001 by Jarring Effects, which allows us to affirm the sound and visual universe of the band. In 2003, Ez3kiel pushed his work further with Barb4ry continuing his research on Trip-Hop, Dub and Electro. Two years later, Versus Tour (Live 2004) is the meeting of classical instruments and electronic machines in live cooperation with the Belgian quartet, Daau. Ez3kiel returned in 2007 with a new project focused on lullabies named Naphthaline , a cd / dvd or the work of the trio goes beyond the framework of the musiuqe to become an enchanting sound and visual experience. At the end of the year Stéphane Babiaud joined the trio as a multi-instrumentalist, allowing the band to release his most rock album, Battlefield, in 2008. In 2009, Ez3kiel toured with Hint for about ten dates, and then recorded a live dvd released in November. The two bands continued their tour the following year, followed by Le Naphthaline Orchestra, composed of some 40 musicians in 2011. A CD / dvd live version appeared in the wake of 2012 while Matthew left the training after more than twenty years of collaboration.
