Faded Paper Figures
Biography
Trio formed in 2007 in Los Angeles around R. John Williams (guitar and singing / brother of Becky Jean Williams, musician with Late Night Alumni), Kael Alden (bass, guitar, drums, etc...) and Heather Alden (song). Kael and Heather were then composers for television and cinema within Robot Repair, but the arrival of the 3rd member launched them into a composition phase under the name Machine Discourse, which will soon become Faded Paper Figures. Behind an Indie Pop/Electro Pop sound, the combo released its album Dynamo in 2008, supported by the clip of "Metropolis". The first returns were very positive (an OC Music Award, a criticism praised by the New York Post, ...) but the musicians were forced to move away from each other to continue their studies or work. However, the compositional phases resume and give birth to New Medium in 2010, which will be defended during a summer tour that same year. It is not until the end of 2012 that The Matter, their third opus, is heard via their label Shorthand Records. A slight difference with previous albums is noticed through the greater integration of batteries but continues on the initial shift until the fourth disc in mid-2014, Relics.
