Fen
Biography
Fen is a group of Atmospheric Black Metal formed in 2006 by Grungyn (Basse, Chant), The Watcher (Guitare, Chant), Theurus (Battery) and Draugluin (Claviers). The band's name comes from a region in England called The Fens, made up of mysterious landscapes, wetlands and swamps. The members of the band grew up in this country and drew most of their inspiration from the atmospheres of their music. Inspired by trainings like Drudkh , Wolves In The Throne Room or Agalloch , Fen recorded a first ep in 2007, Ancient Sorrow , which appeared at Northern Silence Productions, then a demo, Onset Of Winter . But it is with his first long-term effort, The Malediction Fields , signed by Code666 Records, that Fen convinces by the work and the atmosphere brought on this album. The English play in festivals and perform alongside Negura Bunget, Wodensthrone and Agalloch. Drauglin was replaced in 2010 by Æðelwalh, who only last year remained the keyboards, just the time for the band to record a second album: Epoch. In 2011, Fen released a split with De Arma entitled Towards The Shores Of The End , separated from Theutus his drummer, replaced by Derwydd, and then worked on a third opus. Dustwalker released at the beginning of 2013, still at Code666 Records, while the band set off for a European tour with Agalloch.
