London 2003. Busted has been in existence for a year now, and has been wreaking havoc with these ladies. That same year, Charlie Simpson started a side-project he wanted a little more muscular: Fightstar . The quartet records a first EP 6 tracks, They Liked You Better When You Were Dead, released on February 28, 2005, and will send them on the roads with Taking Back Sunday and Armor For Sleep. Previously, at the end of January, Simpson decided to leave his two Busted matches permanently.
Back to Fightstar which will be listed in the '100 bands to know in 2006' by Alternative Press, and named in the category 'Best British Newcomer' at the Kerrang Awards in 2005, probably thanks to "Paint Your Target" and his video directed by Dan, and ranked in the top 10 UK. March 2006 the combo presents the cover with a new opus, Grand Unification , produced by Colin Richardson ( Funeral for a Friend , Machine Head , Slipknot ) and released on March 13; Londoners immediately advanced this "first full length" in the Kingdom, with the Swedes of LastDaysOfApril .
At the same time, miles away, or rather miles away, Deep ELM (Hundred Hands , Small Arms Dealer ,...) once again flaunts the right shot, and integrates "Palahniuk's Laughter" into the tracklist of the compilation The New Crazy. Finally, the label will reissue They Liked You Better When You Were Dead , adding 3 more titles on April 11, 2006.
