Fireapple Red
Biography
Fireapple Red is first of all the union of guitarist Les (Scottish Belge), singer Tarek (Norwegian and Moroccan of origin), guitarist Green Dave (David Green Ball, British) and Italian bassist Giorgio. They meet as students at an international school in Brussels (Belgium) in 1991. In 1997, after being in more or less serious groups, they started working together to play covers in bars. In the middle of the following year, they met in London to compose with guitarist Red Dave (David Red Robinson), who would also become their drummer. In 2003 the start of bassist Giorgio gave way to Miles Carrington who will join the final line-up of Fireapple Red . It was then that during the same year, the band released a 7" split with the Chinkees on the latter's label ( Asian Man Records) and their first full-length soberly titled Fireapple Red, produced by Good Clean Fun Records. Thanks to this opus, full of socio-political lyrics and dreadful riffs, hybrid between a powerful metal and melodic punkcore, they will become more known by the public, and in particular through more than explosive concerts that they will make throughout the UK and up to California in 2004. Then came their last effort, which they would produce themselves in 2005, the EP The First Drop, which concentrated 3 new titles and 3 tracks from their live performances. They will also release a single named Despite It All on November 14, 2005 only for download, before separating mid-2007. Their separation will lead to Red Dave and Green Dave joined Mehdi Safa in *shels, of which Red Dave was already alongside the leader Mehdi in Mahumodo before their separation in 2003. The latest ex-Fireapple Red will also be formed in 2009 with Tom Harriman (drummer of *shels and ex-Devil Sold His Soul), singer Jamie Searle and bassist Calvin Shipman, March of the Raptors, a band very inspired by Fireapple Red. Fireapple Red reports drawing its energy from the punk and hardcore bands of the US, hip-hop, reggae, folk, and rock of the 1980s and thrash metal. The words they deliver, although they claim not to be revolutionaries, support the conviction of a better world, without malice, with the end of a system that favours the ruling social class elite, thus fighting alongside the poor.
