Firewind

Initially Firewind is simply the name given by Gus G. to a project while he was a student in Boston, to promote his first demo, Nocturnal Symphony, which he recorded in 1998 with friends. After going through the bands Nightrage , Dream Evil and Mystic Prophecy , he reactivates Firewind in 2001 with the help of producer David Chastain who gets him a singer (Stephen Fredrick) and a drummer (Brian Harris). The band, which features a technical Metal voguant between Power and Heavy-Metal, released its first album, Between Heaven And Hell in 2002. After a change of rhythm section with the arrival of Stian Kristoffersen to the drums and Petros Christo to the bass (and still active within the band), Firewind continues with a second album, Burning Earth. The band went on tour in Japan, but had to change singer by the way and Chitral Somapala was the one who joined the band on this tour and for the next album, Forged By Fire. Bob Katsionis is also permanently recruited into the group as a keyboardist. After the release of Allegiance in 2006, Firewind toured with DragonForce and All That Remains. Albums are going on, so are tours. Gus G.'s talent did not go unnoticed and in 2009 he was invited to join Ozzy Osbourne's band to replace Zakk Wylde. But that does not prevent him from maintaining his involvement in Firewind. In 2010, their sixth album, Days Of Defiance , was released. In 2012, the band announced 4 exceptional concerts in Greece to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first album and also released a seventh album, Few Against Many. Gus G. devoted the following years to his solo career with two albums to the key. In July 2016, Firewind returned to the studio with a brand new singer, Henning Basse, to record his eighth album, Immortals , released on January 20, 2017 at Century Media.
