Biography

Firtan is a group of Black Pagan Metal orginiary from Lörrach in southern Germany, influenced by Thyrfing, Agalloch, Moonsorrow or Emperor. Formed in 2010 by Phillip Thienger (Claviers / Guitar / Chant), Frederick Grün (Basse), Martin Lindner (Battery) and Neves Sänger (Guitare) the line-up of the band is initially unstable. Neves only remained until 2011, replaced by Simon Philipp and Linda Biermann arrived as second keyboardist for two years. At five they record their ep Wogen Der Trauer released in 2013, with themes mixing misty mid-age landscapes and battlefields. Now trio with the departures of Linda and Simon, it's really Niedergang, their first album that appears the following year, which most exhibits the band, mixing mythology, epic and melancholy of today's world, with an orchestral touch). Martin left his drummer position in 2016, replaced by David Kempf, while Marius Zeinhofer arrived the same year as second guitarist.

Firtan thus released the ep Innenwelt in 2016.
