Floor Jansen
Biography
Floor Jansen , originally from the Netherlands, is an outstanding artist. She made her debut as a singer in the Metal Symphony scene with After Forever , a band created by Mark Jansen (ex- After Forever , Epica , Mayan ) in 1997. Unfortunately, the band ends in 2009, but Floor announces its return to the Metal scene with its new band, ReVamp. The first album was released in 2010, but the tour will end earlier than expected, following a very intense overwork by Floor Jansen , which forced him to withdraw from the world of music for several months. In October 2012, a call will definitely change his life. In a totally unexpected way, while she still recovers from her health concerns Floor Jansen receives a call from Nightwish manager. Indeed, their singer of the time, Anette Olzon (ex- Alyson Avenue , ex- Nightwish , The Dark Element ), is unable to perform the concerts planned in the United States and the band is looking for a last-minute replacement. Floor accepts and then has only 48 hours to prepare, fly, learn the setlist and make her debut with one of the world's largest metal symphony bands. In 2013, Nightwish officially announced Floor Jansen as the band's new singer. In parallel, in 2019, she participated in the Dutch reality TV Beste Zangers in which her talents as a singer were unveiled to the general public, following the performance of leading titles such as The Phantom Of The Opera, Shallow or Euphoria. This television success made her want to start a solo career and in 2023 she released her first self-produced album, Paragon , far from the metal symphony she was known for.
