Biography

Foreign Born began, in 2003, as a jam between students at the University of San Francisco, organized by Matt Popieluch and Lewis Pesacov, joined later by a drummer, Garrett Ray, and a bassist, Ariel Rechtshaid. The band moved to Los Angeles in 2004 and recorded its first compositions.
Presenting an indie rock on the Shoegaze border, quoting as influence Yo La Tengo , Echo & The Bunnymen or Radiohead , Foreign Born first released two EP's confidentially before signing on Dim Mak Records and releasing their first LP, On The Wing Now , in 2007. The band toured regularly and opened for Futureheads, Black Mountain and The French Kicks. Person to Person is the band's second album, released in 2009 on Secretly Canadian.
