
Forty Winks
Biography
Launched in early 1998, Forty Winks ran for a year in Bologna (Italy) before releasing his first demo in March '99. The 500 copies left quite quickly after their first Italian tour and the following year they opened for Chixdiggit, Midtown and Undeclinable Ambuscade. In 2001 they signed their first contract with the regional label Trashed Records which released the first version of the pop punk To the Lonely Hearts in Italy. The label Etats Unien End Records is interested in the band and comes out the album in 2002 with a different artwork. Asian Man Records devotes them a 7" and a place on the Compil' Mailorder For the Masses before the band makes its first outbound tour and joins Wynona Records. As an introduction to the label they record 3 tracks that will be found in 2003 on the 4-way split Too Loud 4 You ( Vanilla Sky , Halfway Home , AndTheWinnerIs ). In the wake comes the EP Sweet Sweet Frenzy.
Doors open for the quartet that is distributed at home by V2 / Sony Music, in the United States by Suburban Home Records and in Japan by Ambiance. They go for a ride to Japan and return home opening for Blink 182. The eponymous album was not delayed and received a wide distribution as soon as it was released in 2005. They promote the effort with national and European tours, returning to the roads in early 2007 with their compatriots from The Jersey Line .
