Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13
Biography
Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 is the band that allows the singer and guitarist Wednesday 13 to make a name in the Punk and Metal scene in the United States in the late 1990s. Their musical style leans towards Horror Punk and Glam. Religion, rape, violence, murder and film gore are the main themes addressed in their music and will remain the driving threads of the lyrics of singer Wednesday 13 throughout his career. Add to this a little bit of hazy disguises such as old skirts and girl dresses, wigs, shoes with compensated soles, zombie makeup and you get Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 . Formed in 1996 by Wednesday 13 , the band does not drag until they start their career. After only two weeks of existence, the first album is written ( The Late, Late, Late Show) and recorded in two days. There are future compositions that will also appear six years later on Murderdolls' first effort such as 197666, Kill Miss America and Galactic Chicken Shit (which will become Slit My Wrist). Despite this first rather encouraging effort although a little awkward at times, the group splits up. In 1997, Wednesday 13 gathered his gules for a tour and in 1998 they released a new album, Nights Of The Living Drag Queens. Again, some tracks will reappear, later on Murderdolls' album such as Twist My Sister , Die My Bride and Latvians Go To War . The following year, they returned to studios to record their third effort, Songs From The Recent Deceased. There is the famous anthem, I Love To Say Fuck, Welcome To The Strange and Hooray For Horrorwood which will later become Dead In Holywood. In 2001, after new line-up changes, Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 released their fourth album, Viva Las Violence. This is the band's last real album, which, after a long tour, will be dissolved by Wednesday 13 . He then joined Joey Jordison of Slipknot to form Murderdolls together. Three years pass and Murderdolls is in hiatus. Wednesday 13 then decided to have a best of Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 titled 6 Years, 6 Feet Under The Influence, which traces the band's discography and five new titles. After that, Wednesday 13 begins a new career, this time solo, under his own name. But in 2005, Wednesday 13 reformed the combo for a few concerts and in 2006 he published a box-set of five cds and a DVD live from their 1998 performance, Little Box Of Horrors.
