
Gallows
Biography
Originally from England, Gallows formed in 2005 on the ashes of My Dad Joe around guitarist Laurent Barnard and turned towards a Hardcore influenced by the first wave of the 80's. After a first album in 2006, Orchestra of Wolves , Brett Gurewitz ( Bad Religion ) noticed them and released the album in the USA with a Black Flag cover as a bonus. After a Kerrang Awards, an appearance in Guitar Hero, a cover of The Ruts and Iron Maiden, the combo locks up in the studio for its second opus. Grey Britain was announced in late 2008 and released in May 2009. After a few dates with Rage Against The Machine or Gogol Bordello , festivals and various tours, Gallows decided to return to compose, announcing "heavy" titles. However, to the general surprise, the iconic frontman Frank Carter leaves the combo because of a musical divergence (and went to found Pure Love). The remaining musicians then recruited Wade McNeil (Alexisonfire) and engulfed with an EP Death is Birth. In April 2012, Gallows announced its next opus, an eponymous, with a release scheduled for September of the same year. A first single, "Last June" was unveiled, followed by "Outsider Art".
