Gameness
Biography
Formed in late 1996 in the Paris region, Gameness currently consists of Morgan (chant), Fabien (battery), Jérôme and Thomas (guitar) and Vincent (bass). After releasing a first EP in September 1999 and a second much more personal in March 2001, Gameness shares a record with Boog-ïa. More than a friendship story, it is about helping one another and valuing a concept apart from music, sharing its enthusiasm, experiences and willingness to discover. Gameness songs are growing even more, with the same will to assert its music and texts in personal ways. In early 2003, the band signed with the label Overcome Records, which does not prevent the release of a first album in April, on the band's label, Recap Records. The band finally affirms its passion for an emotional and screaming hardcore (aka screenamo), a music made of intense, chaotic passages and lulls. Gameness splits in 2005, following problems of incompatibility between members, after sharing the scene with Catharsis, Yage, Dead For A Minute, Burn Hollywood Burn, Aenima, Amanda Woodward, Romeo Is Bleeding, Vanilla, Submerge, Standstill, Engrave, Judoboy, Defdump, Issue 16, Off Minor, Lack or Comity. Brume Retina formed on the ashes of Gameness in 2006.
