Gang Gang Dance

Although its members had met for a few years before, Gang Gang Dance formed "officially" in Brooklyn, United States, in 2001. Unique mix of rock, electro, dub, oriental music, ambient under intense percussion, the band released its first experimental album in 2003. GGD then makes its hole in the New York noise / avant-garde scene in the middle of bands like Animal Collective, Black Dice, Fuck Buttons or TV on The Radio.
The American recipe revolves around the mix of genres on improbable rhythmic structures that carefully avoid the traditional pattern couplet / chorus / break. St. Dymphna is the latest album (released in 2008), which takes a more electro connotation, at the border of dancefloors while keeping a pop skeleton in the closet.
