Biography

Mineta Kazunobu : song, guitar Chin Nakamura : guitar Abiko Shinya : bass Murai Mamoru : drums
January 2003, the influential punk band Going Steady splits. In the wake of this, her singer Mineta Kazunobu decided to set up a solo project called Ging Nang Boyz. But he was soon joined by his former acolytes Abiko Shinya and Murai Mamoru, as well as a new guitarist, Chin Nakamura. In March the band is therefore complete but its first steps are slowed down by the beginning of the modest acting career of its singer. After a few times and false departures, the band simultaneously released in January '05 two records: Kimi to Boku no Dai Sanji Sekai Taisen Teki Ren-Ai Kakumei and Door . The success is immediate and the band is quickly propelled by its fans (mostly young) at the top of the charts. The consecration comes with the successive national tours, each time increasing their base of fans through increasingly eccentric and borderline concerts. They participate several times at the Fuji Rock Festival, Japan's biggest festival, and at Rock in Japan. During the 2005 edition of this last festival, Kazunobu undresses himself completely in front of a crowd divided between silent shock and indignation. The concert will be stopped by law enforcement officers who place the frontman (couture of the fact) in custody.
In June '06, while they are in tourist pilgrimage at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California, a Californian amateur of the group asked them if they spontaneously wanted to replace a group forced to cancel at the last minute. The Japanese who are in their country full room accept with pleasure and realize a dream (10 minutes) in front of a sparse audience. Upon their return to Japan, Kazunobu and Nakamura formed the side project Binkan Shounentai with four of their friends. Busy as ever, the frontman of the band writes and publishes a book, plays acoustics in the streets of his city, while a first DVD is published in April 2007. The montage is made from a thousand hours of live and life on tour. The quartet then toured Taiwan (where Kazunobu reissued his Rock in Japan '05 exploit) and released two singles in August and November, then composed new titles/singles and prepared a second DVD in 2008.
