Biography

Born in the early 1970s in Italy under the successive names of Oliver and Cherry Five, the band quickly took the name of Goblin and became known thanks to its original tapes for horror filmmaker Dario Argento (Profondo Rosso , Suspiria ). Claudio Simonetti (claviers), Massimo Morante (guitar) and Fabio Pignatelli (bass) are at the centre of a band that will undergo several changes of musicians, before separating in 1978 after having composed the music of Zombi by George Romero. The musicians will continue, each on their side and sometimes on several, to compose and record for the next 22 years, before a reformation takes place in 2000, for the music of Argento's film, Non Ho Sonno . A short-term meeting, with disagreements coming up very quickly. Claudio Simonetti, for his part, forms Daemonia (with Titta Tani and Bruno Previtali), planting the seeds of what will become the Claudio Simonetti's Goblin. Pignatelli will also take over the group's legacy as Goblin Rebirth. This legendary formation now has two different incarnations, which allow fans of a certain golden age of horror film to continue to shiver at the rhythm of themes all more famous than each other.
