Godsend
Biography
Gunder Audun Dragsten (Guitare) gave life to Godsend in 1991 following his departure from Atrox. The following year he recorded a demo in Sweden with Dan Swanö (ex Anathema , ex Bloodbath , ex Edge Of Sanity ), which allowed him to win a contract with the French of Holy Records. A first album entitled As The Shadows Fall is soon released, with Benny Larsson (Battery) and still Dan Swanö (Chant / Claviers). The album is welcomed by the critics, perhaps too much, because the formation considers itself more as a project than as a real group and must therefore decline the concerts offered. Finally, Dragsten recruits musicians to play live and lock up in Dan Swanö's Unison Studio to record a second album, In The Electric Mist , which was released in 1996 and marks an evolution towards a much more Stoner sound. He was then surrounded by Per Morten Kjöl (Chant), Tom Wahl (Guitare), Tommy Sebastian Halseth (Basse - ex Atrox), Henrik Pettersen (Battery) and Dan Swanö (Claviers / Percussions). Unfortunately, Dragsten ends up getting tired and decides to abandon the music to resume his studies. But Godsend returned in 1997 with a redesigned line-up. Gunder and Dan are still here and once again appeal to Benny Larsson (Batterie), then convoke Tomas Steinscherer (Guitare) and Erik Oskarsson (Basse) to record a new album, A Wayfarer This, however, is not enough for Dragsten, who put an end to the adventure in 1998.
