Godsmack
Biography
It was in 1995 that Sully Erna decided to abandon the drums to become a singer, thus founding one of the monuments groups of the Rock scene in the United States. Three years later, in 1998, Godsmack signed with Universal. The first album Godmack was released in 1999 with the original line-up composed of Sully Erna singing, Tony Rombolla on guitar, Robbie Merrill on bass and Tommy Stewart on drums. Godsmack then began his first tour with the Voodoo Tour. In 1999 and 2000, they participated in the Ozzfest, followed by an exclusive tour of Europe with Black Sabbath and an intervention in Woodstock in 1999.
In 2000, the Awake album came out of the box, the Vampire song was nominated for the Grammy Awards and the Awake tour was a real explosion for fans, as the concerts were closed and the band opted for pyrotechnic effects. After four years of tours, Godsmack needs a break and it is during this break that Shannon Larkin, a friend of Sully's for 15 years, replaces Tommy Stewart.
In 2003, the band released a new album: Faceless, immediately number one of the sales in the United States, with for the first 23 months, a concert tour and including two nominations for the Grammy Awards and finally, eleven months of tour in all the arenas with Metallica. In March 2004, Godsmack released his first acoustic album, The Other Side . In 2006, he released a new album : IV . The band then returned to a more Metal style, while also including acoustic songs in the vein of The Other Side. The Oracle followed in 2010 and Live&Inspired in 2012 and 1000hp in 2014. Either two studio albums and a live album, After these albums, the band seems like a torpor and falls into total mutism. This period only saw Sully Erna release her solo album. It is that much later in 2017 that the group will resurface announcing that many things have changed for them and that it has come the time of their rebirth. That's how they released When Legends Rise in 2018.
