Biography

Goldfinger was born in 1994, when John and Simon worked in the same shoe store in California. Darrin, who worked for the Starbuck side by side, listens to the demos, and spends the rest of the day doing drum air over the compositions of the very young band. At this moment, the first guitarist we have lost track of, decides to become a pro surfer in Costa Rica. At that time, John calls one of his good buddies named Charlie. He's playing guitar.
They then recorded the Richter demo, which received an exceptional welcome. They were given the chance to record a real first S/T album, released in 1996 and containing a lot of tubes. "Here In your Bedroom", "Answers", "Mable" or "Only a Day". That year, they beat the world record in concert in one year. 385! (And including Sex Pistols, No Doubt, Vans Warped Tour, and Reel Big Fish)
A few videos later, they recorded their second album, Hang-Ups, with the single "This Lonely Place". They also record a cover of Spiral Staircase "More Today than Yesterday" that can be found on the "Waterboy" BO. In the summer of 1998, Simon left the band because of a different musical. He was replaced by a friend of John's, who played in Electric Love Hogs or 22jacks (who had opened several tours for Goldfinger).
In autumn 1999, the band recorded Darrin's Coconut Ass-Live From Omaha, their second EP, which contains only covers (and only pearls! "Just Like Heaven" from Cure, "Nite Club" from Specials, "The Kids are Allright" from Who, "Man in a Suitcase" from Sting and the sumptuous "Downpressor Man" from Peter Tosh). The story recalls that this Ep was recorded after a concert in Nebraska, with the cuives of the Skeletones , almost unspoiled. In spring 2000, Goldfinger's third album, Stomping Ground came out and Europe was invaded with Nena's cover "99 Red Ballons" and the rest of the world was content with the single "Counting the Days".
In 2001, they released in Live on the English market, Foot In Mouth. We then understand the hysteria caused by the live band. In 2002, Charlie left the band, and was replaced by Brian Arthur (who played in Unloco). In 2003, fourth album, Open Your Eyes . The band toured with Sum41 and Good Charlotte.
In 2004, they recorded an umpteenth live, Live at the House of Blues. In 2005, the band released a best of, changed Label, it smells like the end. Sort finally, Disconnection Notice , fifth album, a little gone unnoticed. It was without counting Charlie's return. We're breathing.
In 2006, Alternative Press Magazine released Goldfinger S/T's first album as one of the albums that shaped 1996, alongside No Doubt and Weezer . Many of their songs are found in video games (Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 and Gran Turismo 3 for example). 2008, release of the sixth studio album, Hello Destiny. The pop-punk line takes over very clearly on their ska influences.
