Good Riddance
Biography
Russ Rankin started the Good Riddance project in 1986 in the Santa Cruz area, California. 8 years, 2 demos, a 7" and about 15 line-up changes (without exaggerating) later, the band released its first 7" (2 tracks) record for Fat Wreck Chords. Then things accelerate when Ryan Greene takes control of their first opus (already politically committed...a thing that will not change afterwards) For God And Country. The following years are marked by a lot of tours (American and European) alongside the biggest ones at Fat or Epitaph. The exits go on (see disco below), still at Fat... Starting with Operation Phoenix, the band stopped working with Ryan Greene to adopt the Stevenson/Egerton pair (All/Descendants), an agreement that is still current since Stevenson has been involved in recording all GR records since then. During the autumn '00 David Wagenschutz (ex- Kid Dynamite / Lifetime) takes the free place behind the drums. In 2002, Good Riddance released its first album (recaptures) on Lorelei Records, the label of Russ and Joe Clements (Fry 66 ). Although each of the members has a bunch of projects parallel to the group in addition to a full family life, the combo continues its course at the beginning of the third millennium and their last opus Bound By Ties Of Blood And Disorder came out in May '03.
