Grabass Charlestons formed in Gainesville around 2000 at the instigation of Will Thomas (ex-Beltones, Lexingtons, Habituals, Billy Reese Peters). The band repeats for a year in Fancher's home (ex- Billy Reese Peters) before recording a split album with Billy Reese Peters, and starts a first tour. In 2003, Grabass Charlestons released his first album The Greatest Story Ever Hula'd at No Idea Records and since then, has been making regular films with Against Me, Lucero, Dillinger Four, Lawrence Arms or Less Than Jake.
