Biography

Trained in Toronto (CAN) in 1997, Grade consists of Kyle Bishop (song), Greg Taylor and Shawn Magill (guitarists), Matt Jones (bassist) and Chris Danner (battery). Very soon, the quintet signed on Second Nature Recordings and released its first EP Separate the Magnets in 1998, very quickly followed by another, Such Is Progress, the same year. In the wake, and after the first games of Jimmy Eat World, The Promise Ring or Fugazi, they signed with Victory Records and released Under the Radar in 1999. The following year, Victory published The Embarrassing Beginning (alternative title: The Embarrassing Past , according to edition), an album of rarity, b-sides and reissues. Two shifts took place in the band as Charles Moniz took place behind the drums and Brad Casarin took over the second guitar. However, they won't stay very long since after the release of the final album of the Headfirst Straight to Hell combo, the Canadians split up in July 2002. A good part of the line up already evolving in the side project Somehow Hollow (East End Industries and Victory Records), they devote themselves from there quite naturally entirely to this project, and Bishop follows the example by forming The Black Maria (also on Victory) some time later... but he still works there as guitarist.
