The three Tjon Ajong brothers, Rémi, Willy and Brian, climbed Green Lizard in 1994. The following year Roela became drummer of the band and Jay re-employed bass in '96. Therefore, their reputation continues to grow in their city of Tilburg (Netherlands) and very quickly in the national territory; They even won Holland's most prestigious rock springboard, the Grote Prijs, without having released any CDs yet. For their first release, they decide to do things big and send their demo to Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden etc) who, seduced, will take over the production of this first EP The Nine.
Green Lizard continues his journeyman by celebrating his first cooperation with producer Clif Nornell (R.E.M. , Weezer , Faith No More , Henry Rollins etc) and signing for Sony Music for Identity (2000). A series of events led them to play at Pinkpop, Lowlands and Rokslide festivals in Denmark. Newborn (2002) takes them on a course since this time, thanks to Henry Rollins' speech on the record, they are invited to the Vans Warped Tour 2003. Then it is the Converse and Jack Daniel's Rock Nights tours that welcome the quintet back on European soil.
The writing of a 3rd album starts in 2004 and the contract with Sony ends and the band, released from all pressure, takes its time to compose and does some concerts there and there, opening for The Rasmus or Living Colour. January 2005 marks the last concert in Amsterdam (available on Fabchannel) of the brother Willy (guitarist) who devotes himself to his other projects. The combo then decided to evolve into a quartet and recorded Las Armas Del Silencio in June and July 2005 (a split EP 4 tracks with their colleagues from Janez Detd will be released as an introduction to the record). As a result, a deal was signed with the Dutch company I Scream Records, which released the record in February 2006 in the Netherlands and 2 months later in the rest of Europe. With these hundreds of concerts in Holland, these US and European tours, Green Lizard plunges into the life of tour (in concert on May 18 at Paris@ Glaz'art with Convict and on May 20 at Montpellier/St Jean de Védas @ la Secret Place with Free For All and Atomic Garden).
