Biography
Born in the 1980s in England, Greg Haines was introduced to the music of Steve Reich, Philip Glass and Garvin Bryars. Passionate about contemporary classical music, he hacks into his studio to recreate the atmosphere of large orchestral ensembles. The discovery of Arvo Pärt will largely influence his first album, Slumber Tides , released in 2006 by Miamah .
He then toured Europe, sharing the poster with Machinefabriek, Ben Frost and Peter Broderick. Like the latter and other affiliated composers such as Olafur Arnalds, he composes musical selections for contemporary dance performances. Exile in Berlin, Haines released Until the Point of Hushed Support in 2010, at Sonic Pieces and produced by Nils Frahm.
