Gregorian
Biography
Gregorian is born of the spirit of Frank Peterson, Germany,
creating a musical project combining Gregorian songs, New Age and Pop-Rock.
A first album released in 1991, Sadisfaction, in the same vein as Enigma (F. Peterson and Michael Cretu collaborated for the success of Enigma's first album). On this album Susana Espelleta (member of The Sisters of Oz and wife of Frank Peterson) sings, accompanied by Birgit Freud. 7 years later, Frank Peterson digs up Gregorian
with Jan-Eric Kohrs, Michael Soltau and Carsten Heusmann to
create a unique project, not to work exclusively with
songs that can be sung in 7 degrees on the diatonic scale.
It is then that they surround themselves with 12 singers, selected, with
which they sing on the next albums. Thus Masters Of Chant was released by Edel Records in 1999, an album with many covers (Eric Clapton , Peter Gabriel , Simon&Garfunkel ), like Metallica's famous Nothing Esle Matter . As the recipe worked well, they repeated the experience with Masters Of Chant Chapter II in 2001 (with covers by Phil Collins , Pink Floyd , Led Zeppelin among others), Chapter III in 2002 ( New Order , Sting , Chris Isaak ...) and Chapter IV ( U2 , The Beatles , Coldplay ...) in 2003. In 2004 Gregorian released an overall album a little darker than the Masters Of Chant with The Dark Side. A Best-Of CD / DVD Live with The Masterpieces is released the following year. In 2006, Gregorian published both Masters Of Chant Chapter V and Christmas Chants . Masters Of Chant Chapter VI was born in 2007 and Masters Of Chant Chapter VII two years later. Meanwhile, the first chapter of Masters Of Chant is republished under Curb Records. Dark Side of the Chant , with covers from ACDC , Evanescence , Within Temptation , released in 2010 under Starwatch Entertainment. That same year Gregorian recorded Christmas Chants - Live In Berlin . A new Best Of, 1990-2010 appeared in 2011, as well as the Masters Of Chant Chapter VIII ( Rush , Oasis , The Killers ...). Epic Chants succeeds him the following year and Gregorian returns in 2013 with Chapter IX . Winter Songs
presents the latest production published under Starwatch Entertainment,
in 2014. A tenth chapter of Masters Of Chant, entitled Chapter Final , was recorded in 2015 and closed this series of albums. It seems like the Live! Masters Of Chant - Final Chapter Tour, under Ear Music, 2016. A new album, Holy Chants , was released in 2017. Among
