Grum Lee
Biography
It all began with a beautiful morning in November 2002 where Grum Lee decides to record an acoustic cover of The Vines to make a hoax to his friends at the Sriracha forum. Betting successful since everyone thought it was a real acoustic demo of the band. On the other hand, no one wanted to believe that it was the plantigrade that made it. Let it not hold, he then decides to record others ( Deftones , System of a Down , ...) to prove his claims. Then finally, Grum Lee has never stopped since; He has currently recorded more than 300 covers from more than 200 different bands or artists...
At the beginning of 2003 the buzz began to revolve around grumlee.net, and the first messages of congratulations began to flow from the massacred groups (AqME and Lofofora). Two acoustic concerts will be held in the Toulouse region in April and May 2003, and site visits will explode in May/June 2003 (with more than 14,000 visits over two months).
At the dawn of 2004, grumlee.net unfortunately closed its doors, following the stop of the host server. It will be necessary to wait until spring 2005 for Grum Lee to make his bearback on the web, and soon in Ariège : grumlee.com sees the day at the end of April, with plans to make a complete CD of acoustic covers of groups that will be on the display at the Fury Fest. The opportunity also to perform an outdoor concert visible here . And also to perform with Reuno by Lofofora on Panik by Metal Urban (listening on Myspace).
2006 starts suddenly with an article published in the American magazine DECIBEL (article available here ), an interview given on the Norwegian radio P4 for which Grum Lee recorded a cover of a Norwegian tube, as well as a news in Rolling Stone Magazine US (visible here). Later that year, namely in March, Grum Lee is contacted by Casey Chaos (Amen, Scum, The Damned, Christian Death) and his manager Ken Decter who proposes to record a complete album of covers of the bands of Casey Chaos (Amen and Scum ) that they would release on their label Refuse Music. The project called Acoustic Chaos is on track and a MySpace page is created to relay information about it. Unfortunately this project will never succeed, following the end of Casey Chaos' musical career the following year. This will not prevent Grum Lee from continuing his path, ensuring the first part of Black Bomb A in November 2006 at the New Casino, the result will be an epic sensation with Arno on Antisocial Trust (visible here). He should have even opened for Will Haven (on their invitation) and Deftones at Olympia in 2007... if he hadn't been thrown at the door by the manager. He is currently the (sic) artist who has performed the most times at Hellfest (even if it was to play on the Metalcorner or in the centre of Clisson) since he was present at all the editions from 2006 to 2015, and he even had the honour to appear on the official poster in 2007 (here ). To date, the following bands have confessed to having been kidnapped by acoustic guitar: 3 Inches Of Blood , 36 Crazyfists , Adema , A Life Once Lost , Amen , Amon Amarth , Anthrax , Aqme , Arch Enemy , Bannister Slash , Behemoth , Black Bomb A , Blackfield , Born From Pain , The Bravery , Clawfinger , Converge , Darkest Hour , Dark Tranquility , Deadline , Dead To Fall , Deportivo , The Dillinger Escape Plan , Killswitch Engage , Kreator , Lacuna Coil , Lofora , Lordi , Luke , Madball , Mass Hysteria , None More Black , One Man Army And The Undead Quartet , Porcupine Tree , Psykup , Lofora , Lordi , Willball , Fucker , Scary, Scary And The Undead Quartet , Porcupine Tree , Psykup The last one was Charlie Benante (Anthrax), in a short tweet. At the end of November 2013, after finding the audio files that were hanging on his old computer, Grum Lee finally posted on Soundcloud the 11 tracks he had recorded at the time for the Acoustic Chaos project. Accompanied by Cadjoleene, Grum Lee continues to perform on an ad hoc basis (Klub, Dr Feelgood les Halles).
