Grumpf Quartet
Biography
Grumpf Quartet is an instrumental trio with inadequate name. His only and essential human components are in fact three boys playing (and respectfully) the drums, guitar and bass respectively. Since their formation in 2006, they have been trying to produce rich music with changing structures, unusual harmonies and complex rhythms in a hardcore/noise register luging towards a less caricatural mathrock trying to coexist energy and power with finesse and sophistication. Some musicians have already opened this path and motivate them to follow it through their inspiring productions: they assume it, without looking for the copy, but they owe a lot to bands like Meshuggah and The Dillinger Escape Plan in metal, Golden and Hella in the mathrock, Cheval de Frise and Diatrib(a) in the unclassifiable, Stravinsky and Prokofiev in scholarly music (although all the bands cited can be called "scientists" even if their music is not necessarily written) and the list is of course much longer. The goal is simple: to give a touching and moving music as original as possible, a music for the head and legs.
