Hangman S Chair
Biography
Although its members play in Arkangel or The Spirit of Clan, Hangman's Chair is years light of metalcore. Formed in 2005 on the island of France, the group is the logical continuation of Es la Guerilla , with a more dooming approach. A first album was released in 2007, an effort shared with Eibon's compatriots since it was a split. It will soon be followed by a first album, (A Lament For...) The Addicts, which will be presented simply by saying that many rank it among the best stoner doom albums of the 2000s. Between two line-up changes, a second album was released in 2010, entitled Leading Paris . It comes in particular after the death of Sid-Hamed, guitarist of the band. In 2012, the band released Hope/Dope/Rope at Bones Brigade and embarked on a European tour, notably in Iceland, Germany and Belgium. In 2015, the release of This Is Not Supposed To Be Positive was announced at Music Fear Satan. In 2017, the band recorded a split with Greenmachine, the veterans of the Japanese Sludge/Doom scene. The two compositions of the Parisians tend more and more towards a Cold Wave sound and let foreshadow Banlieue Triste . The latter, the band's fifth album and second album by Music Fear Satan released in March 2018 is an opportunity for the band to go even further. With a session of more than a month in the studio, the musicians do not forbid themselves and leave even more the land of the Doom to orient themselves even more to the side of Tears For Fears, Type O Negative and these dark and cold sounds, drowned in the chorus.
