Biography

Taking its name from a demo of Ripping Corse, Hate Eternal takes shape around Erik Rutan, Tim Yeung, Doug Cerrito (Suffocation) and Jared Anderson in 1997 in St Petersburg (USA). A first album, Conquering the Throne , was released by Earache in 1999, with an excerpt from a painting by Hans Memling. In 2002, a first line-up change took place with the arrival of Derek Roddy (Nile , Divine Empire ) in place of Tim Yeung, who thus joined Erik (who left Morbid Angel ) and Jared. In the form of a trio, Hate Eternal recorded King if All Kings, made MTV2 talk about him with the single "Powers That Be" and embarked on an international tour. Yet Jared Anderson was opposed to leaving his colleagues for drug addiction.
Randy Piro took over and finished his tour in December 2003, before taking a short break. Indeed, I, Monarch is composed and recorded in 2004 and comes out in 2005, combining brutality and speed. After a few concerts, Hate Eternal canceled his European tour and Derek Roddy left the combo, replaced by Kevin Talley ( Dying Fetus), then Reno Killerich and finally Jade Simonetto. The latter became the official drummer and the quartet released Fury&Flames, their fourth album, at Metal Blade.
In 2010, J.J. Hrubovcak took up the position of bassist and allowed the combo to enter the studio for his 5th opus, Phoenix Amonst the Ashes, which was released in 2011 at Metal Blade. Hate Eternal made his big comeback in 2015 with a much awaited album, Infernus , which was released via the Franco-American label Season of Mist. Erick Ruthan is still surrounded by bassist J.J. Hrubovcak, adding drummer Chason Westmoreland to the line-up.
