Formed in 1999 in the suburbs of Geneva in Switzerland around Reverend Seb and Igor Gonzola, The Obese Decadents quickly became Hateful Monday. The first stable formation (Julio di Pecou, Myriam K, Mark Sman, Reverend Seb, Igor Gonzola) would ecuminate the scenes of Geneva for a few years. Surfing on melodic airs both "new school" and "old school", the band first released two EPs, the first Do you have the same goal in pants in July 2000, then Don't Ask Questions in 2002 (Mark Sman left the band between time and Gr3g, ex-Swagman, re-employs guitar). Two first EPs released on Trash Compost Records that the band will leave to join Hannibals Records (the label of Bodybag, Black Market Crash et al.) and release their first album Take a Breath.. . in January 2004. Myriam K. also left the band during the recording sessions and it was Matt, bassist of Black Market Crash , who moved to the second guitar, stabilizing the formation in quartet.
Two years later and after the first parts of Bad Religion , Hot Water Music or Snuff , the Genevans come back with The Last March of the Ignorants , a new album 11 tracks. The album is distributed in March '07 with a bonus song. The band takes a summer vacation and returns in the fall to record a new album, Half A World Away. GPS Prod is still on the spot for Switzerland and Kicking Records takes care of the distro for France. With the opus that comes out at the end of January '08, the mini tours resume, first with France twice for the first two months of the year.
