Biography

Ryan Hudon - guitar Patrick Flynn - singing Shawn Costa - drums Kei Yasui - guitar Ryan Briggs - bass Have Heart was born in July 2002 when Justin (through Words), Eric (through Words), Briggs (Time To Pay), Patrick Flynn (The Action Take), and John D., animated by the same objective, decided to come together to play a hard but enthusiastic music, centered around a positive message. Initially considered a side-project, the group's status will evolve around November 2002 when Flynn and his colleague Ryan Hudon are dismissed from The Action Take . The latter replaced John D. in Have Heart, which gradually became a priority for its members. In July 2003, the Massachusetts band performed its first concert, followed in November by recording its first demo. Drawn at 1200 copies, one of them landed on Think Fast Records' desk that allowed Have Heart to release its first ep entitled What Counts . From then on, the band followed the dates, performing more than a hundred concerts and three tours in a single year. This debauchery of energy pays off. In 2006, Bridge Nine Records ( Palehorse , Death Before Dishonor , The Hope Conspiracy ) included Have Heart in its raster that released its first album, The Things We Carry . It receives an enthusiastic welcome from critics and the public. The band goes back on tour, dredging many fans. He plays notably with Sinking Ships, Soul Control, Down To Nothing, Wake Up Call, Rise And Fall, Death Before Dishonor. After a European tour with Bane and Ceremony, he flew to South America in November 2007 and followed an Australian tour, in early 2008, with Parkway Drive, Antagonist and Break Even. Finally, he returned to Europe with Verse and Shipwreck . Thanks to his passionate sets and Pat Flynn's charisma, Have Heart has its nascent reputation. The band's second album, Songs To Scream At The Sun , produced by Kurt Ballou at the God City Studios, was released in July 2008. He was acclaimed by criticism and brought the Bostonians to a level of notoriety that was glaringly beyond what they had known before.
However, Have Heart announced in May 2009 its willingness to remain there as of the following October, after completing its huge world tour... The band's last show takes place on October 17, 2009 in Boston. In November 2010, Bridge Nine Records released a posthumous live event entitled 10.17.09 . After seven years of existence Have Heart takes its reverence, having marked from its imprint the hardcore of the beginning of the 21st century. A group that will probably stay in the annals.
