Biography

Sasha Andrès (Chant) Brice Pirotais (Basse) Marcel Perrin (Battery) Philippe Thiphaine (Guitare) Vivian Morisson (Basse, 1992-2010) Klaus Sélosse (Battery, 1992-1995)
Since 1992, when the Parisian group was founded, Heliogabale has always adopted an unpredictable course of action and is indisputably sincere. In 1995, Heliogabale recorded a first founding album, Yolk , with Iain Burgess. That same year will be marked by the death of Klaus Sélosse (battery). However, the band continued without waiting for its escape ahead with an EP, To Pee, which was released in 1996. 1997 marked their meeting with Steve Albini who recorded their album The Full Mind Is Alone The Clear. Two years later, Mobile Home, recorded by Al Sutton ( Today Is The Day, Don Caballero), was released on the label Prohibited Records. Like Condense or Portobello Bones , Heliogabale becomes a major actor in the (noise) French rock scene thanks to irascible concerts. Until 2005, group members take time to breathe and devote themselves to other projects. Sasha Andrès turns "She is one of us" by Slegrid Alnoy and Philippe Thiphaine joins M83 for an international tour. Diving Rooms, an excellent record, marks the return of Heliogabale in 2004. It will take until 2010 for a follow-up to be given, Blood ( The Discs of Hangar 221 / A Tant Rêver Du Roi), a disc surprisingly more enlightened than its predecessors. Since 2008, the musicians of Heliogabale also have a side-project called Simple Apparatus whose demo 7 tracks has already been released.
