In 2005 the festival is cancelled due to problems of money / insurance, ... In 2006, after the problems encountered by the Fury Fest Ben (organiser and creator of the Fury Fest ) continued his activism for the stage by creating a new festival, very little information and a lot of rumors (we speak of Tool , Judas Priest , Korn , ...) but the first edition of this European hellfest (which has only the name, and the musical orientation) is actually announced by the end of June 2006 (23 to 25) in Clisson (near Nantes). This first edition of 2006 finally won the success and allowed a repeat of the event, on this first poster we could see almost 70 groups including Motörhead, Dead Kennedys, Soulfly, Saxon, Cradle Of Filth, Gojira, BoysSetsFire, Celtic Frost, Madball, Obituary, Arch Enemy, DevilDriver, Danko Jones, Nile, Alice In Chains, Agnostic Front, Apocallyptica, ... The Hellfest 2007 is still in Clisson, from 22 to 24 June, on the poster of this edition we could see: Immortal, Kreator, Walls Of Jericho, Brujeria, Behemoth, 1349, Earth Crisis, Neurosis, Megadeth, Slayer, Cynic, Within Temptation, Edguy, Machine Head, Chimaira, Emperor, Enslaved, Type O Negative ... The festival is marked by bad weather that spoils the party and departure a few hours before its Korn concert. A postponement of this edition is available here . Since 2008 the Hellfest has gained in fame and professionalism and sees a hundred bands parade per edition, ranging from little known bands to megastars like Kiss, Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith ...
