Biography
John March - singing Reevsy - guitar Kalv Piper - bass Steve Charlesworth - drums
Heresy was born in Nottingham in 1985 on the ashes of Plasmid , a combo in which Reevsy and Kalv, respectively guitarist/singer and bassist, played. Very quickly, the band recruited Steve (battery), Reevsy's cousin, and recorded his first ep, Never Healed , in the label later named Earache. The success is total, 3000 copies being sold. A split followed with Concrete Sox, whose drummer John March will gradually integrate Heresy, allowing Reevsy to devote himself to guitar alone. Provisionally. Soon after, Reevsy was replaced by Mitch d'Unseen Terror . Under this training, the group leaves on the roads with Concrete Sox, Ripcord, Stupids and BGK. The musical chairs resume soon after. Mitch throws the sponge and Heresy recruits Baz, guitarist of Ripcord with whom is recorded Face Up To It, first and only album. Although more widely distributed than its predecessors (the Japanese edition has a flexi with covers from Siege and Youth of Today), Heresy appears to be unsatisfied with this production. The group will be more of the next ep, Which Generation, but the worm is already in the fruit. On the eve of recording a Peel Session, Nottingham's combo separated from Earache and continued the self-production adventure for 18 months. Heresy splitte in December 1988.
