Herod
Biography
Malmö - Sweden in 2006, Pierre buys a baritone guitar that he grants six feet underground and starts working on an old recording 4 tracks. Inspired and influenced by the morose Scandinavian climate, it composes about ten titles in six months. Breach, The Chariot, Switchblade and Cult Of Luna are some of Herod's references. Back in Switzerland, it will take until 2011 and the meeting with Fabien Vodoz ( Twisted ) and David Glassey ( A Fine Day to Exit ) before the project takes shape. Pierre then contacted Julien Fehlmann ( Unfold , Coilguns , The Ocean ), Mechanical Studio at La Chaux-de-Fonds, which agreed to produce and record the album. Bertrand Pot joined the band as second guitarist at the end of 2013. In 2014, Herod signed on the Danish label Mighty Music for They Were None , the release of his first album in May. The singer David will then be replaced by Mike Pilat (ex-The Ocean) who also brings his guitar, and the following long format, Sombre Dessein , will record the band's signature at Pelagic Records in 2019. The Swiss made their music and themes a little more complex, leading to the writing of the third album, Iconoclast , released in 2023 and produced at home by Raphaël Boivey ( When Icarus Falls , Kruger , Nostromo ).
