Himinbjorg
Biography
Himinbjorg is a French group founded in 1996 by Zahaah and Elvan. In keeping with the line of its black elders / pagan metal ( Windir , Bathory ), the Chamberian quartet has engaged in a struggle for the preservation of the traditions and cultures of the peoples, both called to disappear in favor of the wild globalization that we see every day. Honor the ancestors, remember their sacrifices made during the countless tribal wars, commune with Mother Nature and respect it, the modern false society that throws powder into our eyes to better control us... as many themes addressed by the group resolutely loyal to the underground. To promote its texts, the group opts for simple and effective riffs that highlight songs that are sometimes clear and pure, sometimes runaway and aggressive. Himinbjorg permeates his music with mysticism as much as with warrior and galvanizing riffs. Released their albums at a rate of one per year, from 1997 to 2005 (including a best-of reissue by Haunted Shores and Third), the companions then silenced the radio for 5 years, due to a line-up problem. Their latest album, Chants d'Hier, Chants de Guerre, Chants de la Terre, released in 2010, is an opportunity to hear the singer speak in French, which reinforces the impact of lyrics.
