Biography

Bert Quinten : guitar Mattias Vos : bass Wannes Vanvoorden : drums Johan Quinten : singing
In 1997 members of Billy Liar and PN formed Homer. The first concerts in their native Belgium and in the north of France follow. Meanwhile, the Funtime Records label will open its first release at the same time as Homer released a CD split with Billy Liar at the end of the year. During this golden punk rock age, they will share the scene with Death By Stereo, Whippersnapper, Floggin, Molly, Undeclinable, Venerea, Down By Law, No Fun At All, Diesel Boy etc. at Groezrock (Campingfest), Funtime Fest...
After a change of drummer (Wannes Vanvoorden reempile), they eventually recorded new: Painting Memories in 2001 and a split CD with Buckle Up the following year. Mattias Vos becomes the band's new bass player who pauses to compose titles and incidentally rest a little.
In 2005, with The Punkrock Verses Homer reached the top level and won a European mini tour with appearances on a selection of festivals. Their sound continues to evolve, and in January 2007 a new opus, Swan Songs for Broken Voices, was released. Mixed by Alan Showers, he leaves (always at Funtime) in April and marks a different orientation from the quartet for his tenth year of existence.
