Biography

Hot Snakes was born in 1995 on the ashes of the late Drive Like Jehu, whose members Rick Froberg (song and guitar) and John Reis (guitar) wanted to continue their collaboration from a more punk, more direct and concise angle. Accompanied by Jason Kurkounis (battery), they recorded their first album, Automatic Midnight (2000) in the form of a trio. Joined by bassist Gar Wood, he delivered Suicide Invoice in 2002. Jason Kurkounis was replaced on drums by Mario Rubalcaba, who performed on the band's third album, Audit In Progress (2004). The band split up in 2005 before returning to service and giving some concerts from the end of 2011. In 2017, Hot Snakes announced its arrival at Sub Pop, the re-release of its three albums in early 2018 and the arrival of a fourth album, Jericho Sirens , which was released in March.
