Hour Of Penance
Biography
Hour Of Penance is a Brutal-Death-Metal band formed in Rome in 1999 by Francesco De Honestis (Guitare), Enrico Schettino (Guitare), Mauro Mercurio (Battery), Mike Viti (Chant / Bass). Then influenced by bands like Cannibal Corpse, the combo evolves rather in a mix between Death and Black-Metal with a first demo that appeared in 2000. The band was spotted by the Xtreem Music label and released a first album, Disturbance, in 2003. Shortly thereafter, Francesco and Mike left Hour Of Penance in 2004. Giulio Moschini then recovered the position of guitarist and bassist for the future album and Alex Manco was recruited for vocals. Pageantry For Martyrs appeared in 2005, but in 2006 Enrico's turn was to leave the band, followed by Alex. Hour Of Penance continues the adventure with one guitar and then recruits Francesco Paoli, also singing at Fleshgod Apocalypse , and bassist Silvano Leone. It is with these changes of line-up, of more brutal musical style, of label to move to Unique Leader Records and the release of The Vile Conception in 2008, that the band's career takes off internationally. Hour Of Penance shoves the nail with Paradogma in 2010 which is welcomed. Unfortunately, the band wipes the departures of drummer Mauro and Francesco, preferring to devote itself to Fleshgod Apocalypse . Simone Piras (Battery) and Paolo Pieri (Guitare / Chant) join the band that returned in early 2012 with Sedition, their fifth opus.
