Houston Swing Engine

This band is so interesting, because Houston Swing Engine's story is long and just as enlivened, the result of the commitment of a few guys tirelessly and passionately invested in music, bringing their share of joys and difficulties, of swallowed kilometers, of saturated instruments.
It all started in 1995 when 5 young people from Lausanne set up Eastwood , a hardcore/crossover combo of the best effect which, after a Motocross Ep and a unique album Behind The Wall devastating on Noise Product , extinguished in an unfair anonymity. At the same time, the hardcore/metal Unfold combo emerges from the Yverdon side, which will cross the road of our first lascars very often, on record as well as in concert. Eastwood will detach Frank (battery) and guitarists François and Pol; The three young men will not be discouraged after this first wasted experience and find themselves with Francisco singing and Raph bass at the controls of combo Shovel , a band flirting on deftonal metal sensations full of subtleties. But the story will unfortunately repeat itself because in the course of 2001, after a first revealing Ep (birth ) and a first album 60° Latitude Low released on Headstrong, the band scuttles in full writing of the second effort... The other scattered members, Frank, not yet Kiki de Montparnasse, then took advantage of it to exorcise other demons by climbing A Season Drive, for which he took the guitar and singing in hand. However, we find him some time later, along with his faithful colleague François, at the initiative of their third group: Houston Swing Engine . For this fact, they hire to the post of singer a certain Rocky Tovsky, more known behind the microphone d-Unfold under the identity of Danek, as well as bassist Cruz Castillo, Laurent of his civil status (who will leave later). Frank takes over the conduct of the drums as Kiki de Montparnasse and François, the guitar, as Bob Morlock. A first Ep Greatest Hits will be released in April 2002, followed a little less than a year after the first album The Smell Of Horses, both on Gentlemen Records, also the label of their friends Favez. The band mixes all its influences to bring the listener on a rocky road made of hardcore and rock stoner, a definitely explosive cocktail! From this year 2003 and after the release of Unfold Aeon Aony's last release, Danek is totally dedicated to Houston Swing Engine, whose style will further affirm by the release in November 2004 of the second Lp of the band The Tiger Flamboyant on Ronald Reagan Records, an album recommended in more than one respect. A little late, it will have to wait until the end of January 2006 for the one to come out in France under the impetus of the Parisian label At(h)ome .
