Howards Alias
Biography
With the successes generated by the Capdown , Snuff or other [spunge] , the English scene is decided rich in skapunk group. Howards Alias , from Southampton, did not fail the rule. The current line up has been composed of Jevon Snell (drums), Matthew Reynolds (guitar and singing), Steve McCsurker (bass) and Nike Norne (trumbone, trumpet, keyboard and choir). After producing their first demo in 2000 in total DIY and a year 2001 in galley (line-up change), Howards Alias made their first English tour with Link 80 in early 2002 and released a split with Identity #1. This follows 200 concerts throughout the year with the cream of international skapunk: Rx Bandits, Capdown, Mad Caddies and even Anti-Flag. In October 2002, the first (very good) opus The Chameleon Script was released on Good Clean Fun Records. The four English say they are influenced by groups like Denied , AFI , Weezer , Tool or the Slackers , rather strange for a group of skapunk but it also marks the originality of Howards Alias' compositions recognized as anti-elitist and anti-violence. The year 2004 is a kind of consecration, a split with DESA (Link80's side punk rock project), as well as a tour with them, a signature on the most recent English label House Hold Name Records and the release of The Answer is never in September. Note that the group is still very young since the average age is 21 years!
