Hushpuppies
Biography
To know a little more about the Hushpuppies, you must first make a detour by Perpignan. Indeed, it is there that the group, formerly called Likyds, makes its weapons and builds a solid reputation in the south of France. But after five years of garage sixties, Olivier, the singer, moved to Paris: this is the end of the band. To leave for a better meeting, this is a bit of what happened, because by chance or not, Cyrille (guitarist) and Franck (beater) will soon join their competitor in the capital. The reformation of a group then becomes obvious, so our three perpignanes go in search of a bassist, whom they will find in the person of Guillaume, a childhood friend. Wilfried, a former keyboardist from Likyds, added to the group as a cherry on a cake: the Hushpuppies were born. The band then adopted a mix of craded rock and atmospheric style, and quickly stood out from the Parisian scene, especially with their frenzied shows. In the summer of 2003, the Hushpuppies recorded their first EP, followed by two others in 2004, including the EP The Garden, which will reveal them to the general public. The band continues the concerts, and their performances at the Gibus or the Rock festival in the Seine (2005 edition) reinforce their growing reputation. It was finally in October 2005 that the band released its first album, The Trap , a mixture of electro-psychedelic excitement and excitement that would be very well received by critics, and followed two years later by a second full-length, Silence Is Golden , released by Diamondtraxx ( Benjamin Diamond , Nelson ,...).
