Biography

Originally from Helsinki, Finland, Imperanon was formed in 1999 around Aleksi Sichvonen (Guitare / Chant - ex Norther), Antti Alasimonen (Basse), Janne Tschokkinen (Guitare) and Jaakko Nylund (Battery). Antti was successively replaced by Eki Nurmikari, who remained in the band for only one year, then by Mikko Nikunen (Basse). Janne left her place in 2002 at Asko Sartanen on guitar, Mikko on Eki Nurmikari on bass and was recruited a keyboardist: Aleksi Virta (Fintroll). The new quintet recorded a first demo entitled Until The End in 2002. Asko was replaced at the end of 2002 by Lauri Koskenniemi on guitar and Imperanon released a new demo in 2003. With these two demos, Imperanon signed with Nuclear Blast Records for the release of their first album: Stained which appeared in 2004 and proved to be an excellent record of Power Metal / Death Metal Mélodic, in line with Finnish bands like Children Of Bodom, Norther, Wintersun, Kalmah or Eternal Tears Of Sorrow. Following this release, Eki and Lauri left the band and were replaced by Aki Hopeasaari (Basse) and Teemu Mäntysaari (Guitare - Wintersun). Unfortunately, the promising formation splits in July 2007, explaining that their Nuclear Blast Records label has not renewed their contract and that the musicians are also involved in other musical projects.
