Infant Island

In the summer of 2016, Infant Island formed around singer Daniel Kost, guitarist Alexander Rudenshiold, bassist Kyle Guerra, and drummer James Rakestraw. Their first eponymous album was released two years later, on the occasion of the launch of a North American tour. After a change of drummer, Austin O'Rourke replacing James Rakestraw, the band began recording his second LP, Beneath. If completed in March 2019, it will only be released more than a year later, in May 2020, on Dog Knights Production. It will be immediately followed in June 2020 by Sepulcher, who will be called "miniLP" (if it contains only four titles, it is only a few minutes short compared to its predecessor). In keeping with the local Screamo scene ( Majority Rule , Pg.99 , City of Caterpillar ) Infant Island nevertheless introduces various influences leading some critics to qualify their music as "Modern Screamo" or to build parallels with Deafheaven.
