Inspection 12
Biography
The life of Inspection Twelve is a little the meeting point of the two Americas: the one with a beautiful face, young, aloof with success, and then the other; wretched, left behind, swept away by tragedies. In the beginning (1994), 4 kids from Jacksonville (Florida) who to spend the time, will resume the successes of NOFX and Greenday . Dan, Peter, Robert and Scott are kids, between 11 and 14, and borrow their stage name from a Pete and Pete children's show. But the adventure will quickly go beyond the mere frame of fun. In 1995 and 1996, the band recorded on K7 first an eponymous EP, then a first album Come, Hefe, Come . Three years later, three new productions followed, but this time on cd: Inspection Twelve (97), You re A Nation (98) and Step Into The Fire (99). Despite this success, essentially local, Dan, the singer, after graduation decides to leave the adventure, and leaves to join Craig's Brother, for which he will play at the same time as with Limp. It is precisely during a tour with the latter that he decides to send a copy of the I12 to Fat Mike. The famous Mike is interested but as an informed manager advises him to go first through Honest Don The year 2001 will finally smile at the children of Florida. At least it is believed, because fate is mixed up, and in the month of March, he takes Scott in a car accident, two months before the release of the opus. This In Recovery will obviously be dedicated to him. The group, devastated, doubted its ability to pursue, but Tim Grisnik, a long-time friend, will eventually replace Scott, and the new quartet will tour. One comes, another leaves. Trimble throws sponge in 2003 and inspection becomes trio. In the same year, when they thundered, they learned that the album Get Rad on which they had been stashed for 7 months was not retained by Honest Dons and that it would not be recorded. Once again slapped by fatality, however, the combo releases this effort by self-produced independent (accepting its free download to excuse fans of its non-publication). And it is paradoxically on a European label that the trio picks up colors a few months later, seeing this album edited by Floppy Cow first on the old continent and in Japan, then in the USA, in association with Subhurban Home Records. Tree wiped out by life, tomorrows disillusioning, Inspection 12 sees Mosely go bass for the rising band of the moment Yellowcard, while Grisnik plays at The Softer Side.
Despite news on the official website affirming the survival of the project, including the signature at Takeover Records in 2005 and the return of Trimble in 2006, Inspection 12 vegetates collectively and individually since In Recovery, to the point that Dan and Tim offer guitar or drums lessons to survive. If close to reaching the lights of Yellowcard, Motion City Soundtrack or The Ataris, Inspection 12 will have missed the turn of the huge success, leaving In Recovery and Get Rad, similar to two moments of grace. You cursed? Whatever. We know that, "holy" agrees with artist.
