Iron Man
Biography
Iron Man was launched in 1988 at the initiative of John Morris who decided to change his Force project into a tribute band in honour of Black Sabbath. He therefore recruited musicians and subtly chose Iron Man as his surname. Three demos showing the evolution of the band beyond the mere status of tribute band allow it to win a deal at the then LE label doom, Hellhound Records. He followed the recording and then the release in 1993 of a first album entitled Black Night, which will not be a single son long since a second album was released the following year under the title The Passage. It was at that time that Morris would have been offered a place by Lee Dorrian within Cathedral, but he would have refused because of personal problems. Generation Void , the band's third album, makes it more a project than anything else since for this record as for its predecessors Morris gathers different musicians, released in 1999. It follows a turbulent period of premature departures, failed concerts, other departures and other aborted tours, which will last until 2007 since only one live album – no one would say official bootleg – was released in 2006, Live in Cincinnati, recorded in the year 2000. Finally, the line-up stabilizes. In 2007, the show was released, followed by the band's fourth studio album, I Have Returned , released in 2009. For the anecdote, the band is sometimes referred to as 'Blacker than Black Sabbath' because of the presence of two African-American musicians... Line-up : "Iron" Al Morris III (guitar) Joe Donnelly (chant) Louis Strachan (bass) Dex Dexter (battery)
