Jello Biafra (ex-Dead Kennedys , Lard , Tumor Circus ...) decided to reform a band by reflecting on how to celebrate his 50th birthday. Ten years earlier, he had attempted a return with guitarist Ralph Spight (victims family , Freak Accident , Hellworms ), Billy Gould ( Faith No More ) and drummer Jon Weiss ( Sharkbait , Horsey ). After repetitions for a month, the quintet named Jello Biafra and the Axis Of Merry Evildoers staged for two sold out evenings at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall. Before entering the studio for the recording of The Audacity of Hype, Biafra recruited the guitarist Kimo Ball. The band is renamed The Guantanamo School of Medicine.
