John 5
Biography
John 5 , by his real name John Lowery was born on July 31, 1971 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, United States. He is known to the general public for being Marilyn Manson's fifth guitarist, which is his nickname. He is currently the guitarist of Rob Zombie . John began playing guitar at the age of seven, encouraged by his parents, but it was at the age of 18 that his career began as a studio guitarist after moving to Los Angeles. His first band in California was Alligator Soup , with which he had the opportunity to meet Rudy Sarzo of Whitesnake , which gave him his first real show on the Rock scene. With Bob Malette, producer of Tracy Chapman , Rob Halford ( Judas Priest ) or Black Sabbath , John works on many projects such as making the trailer of television shows, movies as well as music of some commercials. John was then enlisted by Lita Ford and made the first part of Kiss. He created a great friendship with Kiss members, including Paul Stanley with whom he later collaborated on his solo album Live To Win in 2006. He then followed up with a few bands, including Rob Halford's solo project. In 1996, John had to audition for the role of guitarist for Marilyn Manson, but arrived late and Zim Zum finally obtained the position. John then worked with Rob Halford on his 2wo project. The band did not last long, but did the Ozzfest in 1997 before separating. Then John was enlisted to play with David Lee Roth (ex Van Halen) on his solo project. But it was especially in 1998 that the guitarist made himself known to the general public by being hired by Marilyn Manson to replace Zim Zum. Manson then named him John 5 because he was the fifth member of the group. He played for the first time in the Mechanical Animal Tour, then collaborated on Holy Wood (In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Death) and The Golden Age Of Grotesque. During these years he continued his work as a studio musician for artists of various backgrounds like Garbage, David Lee Roth or Avril Lavigne. But the relationship with Marilyn Manson is very confrontational because John 5 does not use alcohol or drugs like the rest of the band, so in 2004 the guitarist left the band and went on to a solo career. He released his first album, Vertigo , the same year that will be followed by Songs For Sanity in 2005. John 5 then decided to create his own group, named Loser . He worked with the band members on their first album, but he had to leave them to give himself completely to Rob Zombie who had hired him to play on the album Educated Horses and on the next tour. Despite his various collaborations, John 5 took the time to record solo albums regularly since The Devil Knows My Name was released in 2007 and Requiem in 2008. In 2009, the guitarist composed for Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls And The Systematic Dehumanization Of Cool by Rob Zombie and released a remix disc, Remixploitation. Her latest solo album is The Art Of The Malice. On stage before being sponsored by Fender, John 5 long used Ibanez. Since then, Fender has produced several signature models such as Tele J5 HT, Tele Triple Deluxe J5, Tele J5 Bigsby and finally J5 Acoustic.
