Biography

June Of 44 was founded in 1994 by former members of Rodan , Lungfish and Hoover on the Louisville side of Kentucky. Jeff Mueller (Guitare / Chant), Doug Schharin (Battery), Fred Erskine (Basse / Trompette) and Sean Meadows (Guitare / Chant) record their first album, Engine Takes To The Water , whose comparisons with Slint will not be usurped thanks to his Post-Rock / Indie-Rock / Post-Hardcore approach. Two years later, June Of 44 released Tropics And Meridians not so far from Tortoise's work, followed by theep The Anatomy Of Sharks. Doug Scharin starts a new Dub / Post-Rock project named Him with the members of Codeine and Rex. Sean Meadows, meanwhile, is embarking on the Sonora Pine project. On the basis of these various experiences, June Of 44 began to incorporate Jazz and Electro elements on his two albums, which were released suddenly in 1998 and 1999: Four Great Points and Anahata before the band decided to split at the end of 1999. Jeff Mueller will then found Shipping News, Sean Meadows, Everlasting The Way, Fred Erskine will join Abilene and Doug Scharin will continue his adventure with Him.
